Bengang Elementary School
Location
Bengang Elementary School, which is a small and beautiful mini school, is located in Bengang Village, Sinwu. Just at the entrance of the modern Bengang Bridge to the beach at 56.5 kilometers on Western Coast Expressway lies Bengang Elementary School. The school is with an area of 189 hectares. There are total 7 classes. Six classes are for students over the age of 7and one is for students in the kindergarten. 95 percent of students are Hakka hence this is a typical Hakka and Fishing Features school.

History
Bengang lies in Sinwu, Taoyuan County. According to historical records, Sinwu was developed earliest during Yong-zheng years in Ching Dynasty. Hakka from Lu-Feng County and Hai-Feng County, Guang Dong Province arrived at HongMao harbor, Singfen, mainly reclaimed at the north area of Tou-Qian Stream. During Chien-lung years in Ching Dynasty, the name of Beng-zi Harbor appeared. Until Taiwan restored in 1945, the government renamed Sinwu Village to Sinwu Town. Although the name of Bengang does not sound noble and graceful, it is well known for its name.
